Fauzia Asad, PT

Fauzia Asad graduated from University of Maryland at Baltimore with her degree in physical therapy in 1993. Always seeking better outcomes for her patients, she had the opportunity to take many continuing education classes in different manual therapy techniques. She was introduced to Strain Counterstrain through the Jones Institute when Dr Lawrence Jones (founder of the technique) was teaching. After completing all strain counterstrain classes offered, this technique became the foundation for her interventions with patients. When she learned of an extension of this technique that could address fascial restrictions with a multi system approach, she recognized its importance and has since attended many classes. She incorporates this powerful technique into her treatment of a wide variety of patients and has found profound, long lasting results. She is also a certified lymphedema therapist and has found Fascial Counterstrain to be an invaluable tool in addressing lymphedema and lipidema in a population that is often underserved.
