Cristina Shupe PT completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a specialty in Dietetics at the University of Arizona and her Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine's Institute of Physical Therapy. She has been practicing physical therapy for over 25 years.
Cristina began studying Strain Counterstrain (SCS) in 2003 through the Jones Institute and expanded her training to Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) in 2016. Since then, she has continued to pursue completion of the entire FSC and Counterstrain Academy Module Curriculum towards mastery.
She now uses FCS nearly exclusively because it has transformed her practice. Witnessing its remarkable ability to help patients with unresolved and complex health issues inspired her to focus solely on this method. She has committed herself to advancing her expertise through ongoing education in Fascial Counterstrain, as its comprehensive and holistic approach has consistently delivered some of the best results she has seen throughout her career.
"Counterstrain profoundly changed my life, strengthening my commitment and enthusiasm for helping others through this incredible technique. It's a breakthrough for healing and well-being, offering a powerful, lasting way to relieve pain and restore function. By addressing the root causes of dysfunction."
Cristina is the founder/owner of Calyx Physical Therapy, an integrative physical therapy clinic in San Francisco, CA.
